Supercharge Your Goals

As we head into the beginning of 2021, many of us are thinking about goals for the New Year.
For years, I struggled with setting meaningful goals.

At times in life, I set superficial goals that rarely had a meaning, so it was easy to fall off the wagon when up against any resistance.

At times I found myself setting too many goals, which made it hard to truly plan or track progress.

Other times, I’d think big change and short time, which made for lots of frustration in the process.

The last few years, I’ve had the pleasure of fine tuning focus with the help of coaches and mentors.

Over the next several posts (linked below), I invite you to follow along with this process and set powerful goals for this upcoming year.

Life changing goals, backed with actionable steps to accomplish them.

PART ONE – Todays exercise is as follows:

“The difference between a dream and a goal, is that a goal is written down.”
-Mark England

Set aside 20-30 minutes with a pen and paper and set THREE Five Year Goals.

1 Professional Goal
1 Personal Goal
The third can be whatever you want.

Ask yourself: “Where do I want to be in five years? Who do I want to be in five years? What do I want to be doing in five years?”

Think big. If you’re over the age of 30 and want to think real big, I encourage you to think in ten year goals.

This goal may be something you accomplish much sooner than five or ten years.

The idea is to start creating the future we want.

We’re setting our vision with this exercise.

Over the next few days, we will boil this down to our 2021 goals and action items.

PART TWO: “Start With Why” – Simon Sinek

PART THREE: “The best way to change long-term behavior is with short-term feedback.” – Seth Godin

PART FOUR: “Focus on the practice, not the performance.” – James Clear

PART FIVE: Vision, Meaning, Deliverables, Plan

PART SIX: Triggers and Boundaries
