Projecting Wins

When we project, we give our control to others.

When we project our wins onto others, we overlook our role in accomplishing great things.

We can be thankful for others while being thankful for and appreciating ourselves.

“I hit a 10lb PR today because of my coach.”

I hit a 10lb PR today because I chose to listen to my coach and consistently did the work to accomplish this.

“If it wasn’t for my friends I’d be a mess.”

Because I chose to surround myself with supportive people, I live a happy and healthy life.

“I couldn’t have done it without them.”

I couldn’t have done it without myself.

I did it because I believed in myself and I got the support I needed to accomplish it.

“So thankful to my professor for giving me my black belt.”

So thankful for myself, for committing to, and working for my black belt. Thankful for my professor for supporting me along my journey.

Coaches, mentors, friends, and family can give us insight, share lessons, and experiences.

In the end, the individual has to do the work to gain the accomplishment.

Remember that.

Go forth, own your wins, and be awesome! 😎
