Be a White Belt

The longer we spend in any given skill or industry, the easier it becomes to settle into our ways.

Especially as coaches, it’s very easy to become the one everyone goes to for training, and to spend less and less time being the student.

If we are going to continually improve, the key is to put ourselves in positions to learn.

To surround ourselves with others that are better than we are.

Others that are different than we are.

To walk into a situation with an open mind and curious heart.

To explore

Remove judgement, and simply explore.

Try new drills. Try new styles.

Know where our limits are, love those limits, and explore them.

Stay a student.

Embrace the white belt.
