Dealing in Absolutes

Five years ago, we were less experienced. More ignorant.

That’s how life works.

Each year, we have more and more experience.

What we choose to do with our time will determine what that experience does for us.

Yet, the fact remains, we are different people than we were in the past.

It would be safe to say, that in this moment in time, we are more ignorant than our future self. To some degree.

Less experienced.

Keeping that in mind, it’s interesting to hold an absolute opinion or ideology on anything, and believe it is the only way.

If we accept that in the past we were less experienced, and our future selves will be more experienced, it makes sense to assume that our current self may be missing experience to truly understand a situation or thought.

The old adage “You don’t know, what you don’t know.”

Dealing in absolutes is accepting that we are as far developed in this moment as we could ever be.

Also read: “I already know everything, so there’s nothing else for me to learn.”

Once we take that stance, we begin to dismantle our future potential.

There’s power in principles, and belief systems.

It’s even more powerful when we’re willing to challenge them and be open to new ideas.

Growth often comes with letting go of people, places, things, and ideas that have served their purpose, so we can progress to our future selves.

You know a lot, and you don’t know even more.

Act accordingly.

Step into each day with a curious mind.

Accept and engage in challenging your current self, so you may grow into the future you, that you want to be.

Go forth and be awesome! 😎
