Short term vision kills long term progress.
Long term vision expands our view of what is possible.
When we plan in terms of 5 or 10 years, tasks like getting a black belt in BJJ, teaching combatives full time with a profit, losing 40lb, adding 50lb to a lift, or traveling the world, become significantly more achievable.
It allows us to focus more clearly, say “no” more freely, and sink into the process.
In turn, we end up making greater progress during that time.
When we shorten that timeline, the fear of the clock begins to influence our decisions.
FOMO creeps in.
We try to do too many things at once and end up making minimal progress in any one area.
In training this often leads to resentment, burn out, and injury.
In business this often leads to poor messaging, frustration, knee jerk reactions, and spreading resources too thin
In life, this often leads to mismanagement of time, misalignment of priorities, and increased stress.
Set your vision for the future.
Who do you want to be in 5-10 years?
What are the key goals to get there?
What’s the ONE thing to focus on right now, that will make the biggest impact in that journey?
Go forth and be awesome! 😎
