What You Can Control

What Am I in Control Of?

“It would suck if I worked so hard on this and the project fell through.”

I’m focusing on doing the best I can to make sure the project has the best chance of success.

“What if I get injured in training?”

I can focus on moving well, first and foremost, to make sure I limit the chances of injury.

“The business has been stalling and I’m afraid it’s going to fail.”

I can identify where we are falling short in growth, and focus my effort on that area to improve our ability to grow.

“I’m super stressed out, and I feel like I’m never going to get out of this cycle.”

I can ask for support from people that care about me, or a professional to help navigate this phase, and care for myself.

“I’m terrified that someone could harm or kill my loved ones.”

I can train myself, and my loved ones to be physically and emotionally prepared to manage violence.

It can be easy to focus on a negative future in regards to something that has yet to happen.

In these moments, it is powerful to focus on what things we control to be the best prepared we can for any future.

Focusing in on an imaginary future, will often freeze us in our tracks, and cause us to walk towards the exact future we’re trying to avoid.

Focus on what you can control, and get after it.

Go forth and be awesome! 😎
