What’s Your Crutch

Building an awareness of our strengths, shortcomings, triggers, and tendencies can be powerful to helping us improve, and creating the future we want.

However, it can easily be a crutch that we morph into an Identity.

It’s easier to blame our lack of relationships on the fact that we’re an introvert, then it is to recognize that it can be uncomfortable for us to do new things with new people, and create strategies to overcome that, or build from it.

It’s easier to blame our parents for how we act, or treat others, than it is to admit it’s our choice in the end.

It’s unlikely that we’re not getting a promotion because we’re a Leo and it’s just not in the stars this month.

It’s more likely that there is a tangible thing about the situation that we can improve, work towards, change, or walk away from.

Our past impacts us physically and emotionally, in ways we often have difficulty realizing.

When we shine a light on those, we can use them for better, or for worse.

Respect your tendencies. Understand how they impact you.

Form strategies to recognize when they are impacting you, and improve on them.

Avoid accepting it as an excuse to fall short for yourself and your loved ones.

Go forth and be awesome! 😎
